Correct.

New American Standard Version of the Bible`Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent. 20`Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. 21`He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22`He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'"  Revelation 3:19-22 (NAS)

The Supper of the Lamb:

Jesus promises in Revelation 3:20 to the Christians in His church in Laodicea that if anyone hears His voice (which in this case is telling them to be zealous and repent), that Jesus will come in to him and will dine with him.

Toward the end of Revelation, we will be introduced to this great supper with Jesus (the Lamb).  The following parable that Jesus gave also has a similar theme and reminds us of the need to be prepared so that we may attend:

New American Standard Version of the Bible"Then he said to his slaves, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. 9'Go therefore to the main highways, and as many as you find there, invite to the wedding feast.' 10"And those slaves went out into the streets, and gathered together all they found, both evil and good; and the wedding hall was filled with dinner guests. 11"But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw there a man not dressed in wedding clothes, 12and he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here without wedding clothes?' And he was speechless. 13"Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and cast him into the outer darkness; in that place there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' 14"For many are called, but few are chosen." Matthew 22:8-14 (NAS)

Sitting with Jesus on His Throne:

Jesus also promises in Revelation 3:21 to those who overcome that they will be granted the right to sit down with Jesus on His throne.

How comforting this must have been to those at that time who were suffering intense persecution for the cause of Christ...to be reminded that Jesus is aware of their spiritual situation, and that those who overcome will be able to sit with Him on His throne.

Do you believe that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God today? Jesus, following His death and resurrection, sat down with God the Father on His throne...to rule forever:

  • Jesus is reigning now:

New American Standard Version of the Bible"The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had put to death by hanging Him on a cross.  He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.  And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him."  Acts 5:30-32  (NAS)

"...he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that He was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did His flesh suffer decay.  This Jesus God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses.  Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear."  Acts 2:31-33  (NAS)

"Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a minister in the sanctuary, and in the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man."  Hebrews 8:1-2  (NAS)

"...fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."  Hebrews 12:2  (NAS)

  • Jesus will reign forever:

New American Standard Version of the BibleBut of the Son (Jesus), He (the Father) says "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom.  Hebrews 1:8  (NAS)

"He (Jesus) will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; and His kingdom will have no end."  Luke 1:32-33  (NAS)

  • When Jesus comes again, what will He do from His throne?

New American Standard Version of the Bible"But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne.  And all the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.  Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."  Matthew 25:31-34  (NAS)

"...then comes the end, when He delivers up the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power.  For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet.   The last enemy that will be abolished is death."  1 Corinthians 15:24-26  (NAS)

  • Will anyone reign with Christ on His throne?

New American Standard Version of the Bible"And Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.  And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My name's sake, shall receive many times as much, and shall inherit eternal life."    Matthew 19:28-29  (Jesus speaking to His twelve disciples - NAS)

"If we endure, we shall also reign with Him; if we deny Him, He also will deny us..."  2 Timothy 2:12  (NAS)

We continue to add below to the list of promises that Jesus makes to His followers:
